About Snowshoes

Having had Snowshoes for about six months now I have to say how delighted I am to have found them. They are a wonderful breed, I would describe them as Bengals without the attitude !!!! Try one I can promise you that you will be surprised at how loving, funny and animated they can be, they are not like a moggy, they are more active, interactive and friendly. Fabulous cats.

The Snowshoe is considered to be a rare breed which is why I have decided to try to help promote the breed. They resulted from a cross- breeding between a Simese and bi-coloured American Shorthair, in America in the 1960`s. After a lot of hard work and dedication from a select few breeders Snowshoes have survived as a breed.
However Gccf registered breeders are still needed to help this wonderful breed progress further in the UK.
Priority will be given to Registered breeders when litters are born.

Snowshoe cats are sweet tempered, energetic, playful, intelligent and adaptable. They are usually friendly to everyone in the household including dogs and other pets. They have a soft and melodious voice.
The pattern on each of these cats are different for each Snowshoe. The Snowshoe is a healthy cat with no known health problems. And guess what they have BLUE eyes - my favourite.

I will be starting my Snowshoe breeding programme in the spring with two cats from Mollie Southall of Coldenufforsnow Snowshoes, Avenish Ice-Maiden and Coldenufforsnow Whistler. Mollie has put much time and effort into the breed over the past years and I would like to thank her for letting me have these two beautiful cats. I hope I can help in promoting the breed for you. I also hope to be able to work alongside the other Snowshoe breeders in the UK and Europe.
